How we work
Before we look at who how your website works, and how it will look, we need to know how your organisation and business works. At this point, we map out your organisation’s customers or visitors. We call these personas, which are effectively stereotypes designed to broadly cover the types of people who you need to appeal to and the types of activities your website, app or other digital entity needs to cover. In order to make decisions about features, design or strategy in the future we can come back to your organisations personas and let your users decide.
Now that we’ve explored who your users are, we’ll look at the structure and the sort of content which will appear on your site. Armed with post-it notes and plenty of patience, we can map out the menu structure of your site, making sure we use the language your customers use rather than the words we may use as industry insiders.
Now that we’ve worked through who your website is for, along with structure and kind of content it will contain, we can work on the design of your site. Using your existing branding, or working with you to create new branding, we’ll use the best of practice on the web to create a site which works across the widest range of different browsers and devices, and works hard to be found by search engines and your users backed up by user testing.
We don’t believe in a one-hit, fire and forget approach to your website, app or digital presence as a whole as the digital world around it is constantly shifting. In fact, we recommend you make small iterative changes working to get the features and improvements you need most live on the web first. For us, a launch may be simply getting a single page online with your address or a blog so that search engines can start to find you while we work, for example, on developing your online shop. Ongoing, we can help to guide your content strategy, target search engines more effectively based on robust analytics, develop your branding further and focus on getting the users you want to attract while safely hosting your website, app or email.
